We are closed in response to COVID-19 and the Governor’s mandate. Placement can be completed virtually,  check out this interactive form to see what placement measure is right for you AND get connected with an placement advisor! Many other tests have been cancelled, please click on the individual test for additional information. 

During fall quarter and campus closure, the best way to contact us is through any method to the right.  Or, visit us in our LIVE Zoom Lobby.  Enter virtually and speak to someone at the PTC, bring any and all questions.

When we do reopen, here are measures that have been taken to adhere to the social distancing recommendations. 

  • We have reduced the amount of testing seats.  This reduces our testing capacity by 50%, this may mean that you will experience longer wait times for available testing space.
  • Please continue to monitor this site for updates to our hours of operation.

The Placement and Testing Center, located in Building 1, provides a variety of services for incoming and current students. We also offer community proctor services as well as administration and monitoring of tests listed below.

Services provided by the Placement and Testing Center include:

Using the Placement and Testing Center

  • All placement and faculty testing is done on a drop-in basis; please arrive at least one hour before we close to begin any test.
  • Students who request a private room or other testing accommodations must schedule 48 hours in advance at the Placement and Testing Center, or by calling the number listed, or by emailing testingcenter@highline.edu.Students who receive extra time on tests as the only accommodation do not need to schedule in advance.
  • All students testing in the Placement and Testing Center need to bring a photo ID and will be asked to lock up their belongings (cell phone, book bags, purses, electronic devices, etc.) in the lockers provided.
  • If you are parking, you may purchase a $2.00 daily parking ticket at one of the parking pay stations (kiosks), located in the East and South parking lots.

Disability Accommodations

The Access Services office can provide academic accommodations for students with a documented, permanent or temporary physical, mental or sensory disability. Since placement tests are untimed, there is no need to request a time extension, but other accommodations are available. If you think you may need further accommodations, either for placement tests or your future classes, please contact the Access Services Office.
