The National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) exam from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) tests for competency in medical assisting.

Candidates are allowed 3 hours to complete the examination.

Online pre-registration is required. Walk-in Registration is NOT available.
Retest Policy: Candidates will now have four opportunities to take a single examination, but the waiting time between attempts has changed:
- After a failed 1st attempt – the candidate must wait 30 days before retesting.
- After a failed 2nd attempt – the candidate must wait 90 days before retesting.
- After a failed 3rd attempt – the candidate must wait 1 year before retesting.
- Bring two forms of Identification. One form must be government issued with photo and signature.
- You will log into your NCCT account. Please make sure to know your login information.
- All personal items must be locked in the provided lockers during testing.
