Faculty and Staff Advisors
Thank you for your interest and help. We want our students to place accurately into the courses that will ensure their success in college. Please use the Advising Documents to show students the variety of options they have for assessment and placement at Highline College.

- Our goal: Math placement is educational and participatory for students, thank you for supporting students to get accurate math placement.
- The documents below are intended to show students what content is covered in each math course, and on each test for WAMAP. Students can self-assess their readiness for the course and get prepared for the placement test at the same time. These practice packets should NOT be taken more than once. Instead, use them to target specific areas that need further work and access more practice questions online with WAMAP.
English and Math Videos

Both English and Math departments offer transcript placement for their courses. This means that students with certain grades in high school math or English language arts can place directly into a course — this values their work in high school and prevents them from potentially misplacing through other tests: Accuplacer or WAMAP.- High School Transcript Placement for English Courses

STAMP Information for College Level Credits in World Languages
The STAMP (Standards-based Measurement of Proficiency) test is an online assessment of reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills in a variety of languages. Highline currently offers STAMP tests for the following languages: Arabic, Chinese (Traditional and Mandarin), French, Japanese, and Spanish.
Students can earn up to 10 credits which may be used to satisfy requirements for all degrees and certificates where classes are required in Humanities Area I and Electives, and have credits posted to their College transcripts for a nominal fee. All credits are awarded through our Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) office. The information sheet for Advisors will provide guidance on advising students with STAMP credits.
